Artist Information

One of the most profound lessons ZZ WARD learned from growing up listening to the blues greats was to be authentic to your story. When the LA-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist began to write new music, she found herself in the midst of one of the biggest life changes a person will ever experience: motherhood.

The resulting music is her truest and most blues-infused to date. Freed from the pop pressures of her previous major label, ZZ is able to fully embrace the blues, her most formative influence. Her single, "Mother," out July 19th, was a wailing Chicago blues-styled song. The Mother EP, released October 4th, features a mix of ZZ's favorite Sun Records songs, and muddied-up versions of her well-known tracks to commemorate her blues liberation. The single and the EP were produced by multi-platinum producer Ryan Spraker (Eli "Paperboy" Reed, Weezer, In This Moment).

ZZ's first single, "Put The Gun Down," from her 2012 debut, Til the Casket Drops, broke into the AAA Radio Charts Top 10, and stayed there for 10 weeks. It was followed by the single, "365 Days," which hit #2 on the charts. Til the Casket Drops also snuck into the Billboard Top 40 Alternative Chart. ZZ's sophomore album, The Storm, released in 2017, peaked at Number 1 on the Billboard Blues Charts, highlighted by singles featuring GRAMMY-Award winners Fantastic Negrito, "Cannonball," and Gary Clark Jr., "Ride," which was also the end title song for Pixar's feature film Cars 3.

At the crossroads of the blues and rock & roll, LIAM ST. JOHN commands his truest form by combining lyrics that embody the blues with their piercing and painful truth and delivering a captivating performance with vibrancy true to the spirit of rock and roll. Liam floods the room with electrifying energy, washing over every stage he graces.

St. John signed to Big Loud Rock out of Los Angeles and released his first EP “Believer” with the label on June 28th of 2024. “Adding Liam St. John to the Big Loud Rock family is an honor. His unique, musical style and passion for rock music at its roots gives Big Loud Rock its next chapter in our ever-evolving story to celebrate rock music.” - Big Loud Rock Partner/President Greg Thompson.

Liam’s debut full-length project, “stripped back”(June 2022) reached #1 in Top Blues Albums globally on Apple Music, followed by a successful nationwide tour hitting 67 cities. A year later, Liam summited the same chart with his sophomore record “All The Bad Things.”

St. John made his mark in Nashville after inking with King Pen Music by way of Warner Chappell at the end of 2022. This is the blues crooner’s first publishing deal. “I was knocked out by Liam’s voice when I first heard it,” shares King Pen Music President Kelly King. “He is such a creative and unique artist with a vision like no other. His music brings a fresh new look on blues and rock in this world.”
